This is absolutely awful. It almost seems from this line "any time a person engages in sexual penetration in an adulterous relationship, he or she is guilty of CSC I", that even an unmarried person who has sex with a married person would be commiting a crime. If I bang some guy's wife on accident, I shouldn't be commiting any crime.
Interesting, now if you'll excuse me I have someone to convict.. *whistles happily*
awww wait the full reality of this just set in....
Steve man, be a buddy and dont press charges, it was foretold!

I think it is awesome. People should be held accountable.

I don't think this article has anything to do with holding people accountable. This is a question of taking the text of a law literally. The article even mentions that, and how this was a way for the judges to get back at lawmakers for forcing them to be so literal. What's next? taking these laws literally?
In Rochester, Michigan, the law is that anyone bathing in public must have the bathing suit inspected by a police officer
In Michigan, married couples must live together or be imprisoned.
In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle.
You may not swear in front of women and children in the state of Michigan.
A man legally owns his wife's hair.
In Detroit, it is illegal to ogle a woman from a moving car.
In Port Huron, the speed limit for ambulances is 20 mph.
Under state law, dentists are officially classified as mechanics.
And it's a good thing you don't live in Tennessee Alex....
In Dyersburg, it is illegal for a woman to call a man for a date.

I think that this law is pretty rediculous. Yes, it is absolutely abhorent for someone to cheat on their spouse. The two people who got married gave a solemn and sacred oath to one another to love, honor, and respect each other, til death do they part. Nothing in those vows said "oooh...since that other person's hot, I think I'm going to bang them, but keep my spouse, too...and it's perfectly okay!"
Cheating is horrible, but I don't think the guilty party should go to jail. The two people should work it out between themselves. If they choose to stay together, that's their choice. If they choose to get divorced, that is another option, and I think that the cheating party should have their ass taken to the cleaners by a really good laywer employed by the person who was cheated on.
All of this reminds me of a quote that I recently read:
"They say marriages are made in heaven, but so are thunder and lightning." --Clint Eastwood

Only if you cheated on me.
No, you're not in trouble, sweetie. I love you. :)
(And yes, everyone else...I am aware of the mushiness factor, so can it. lol)

Did you even pay attention at your wedding? I think that was in the antivirus part.

In AZ, if you own five dildos you're a hobbiest. Six, you're a felon.
While I agree that adultery is wrong...Why the fuck does the government have to be so involved with our sex life? Statetory rape is one thing, I'm all for prosecuting that, but adultery? Where's the line here?
Its grounds for making someone get examined at Health and Human services/ marriage conseling/ divorce, not for inprisonment.
And, please, what about all those poor cuckold fetishists? Won't somebody think about the cuckold fetishists?

I was in super-girly "I'm getting married!!!" mode. Everything was such a blur, and all I saw was Phil. Seriously. It was only after the ceremony I was like "Pastor Greg said what?!"
Oh well. I give him kudos for trying to be creative. He knew that Phil was a computer whizz and that it was his profession, and that I knew enough computer stuff to be dangerous, so he tried to tie it into the ceremony. *shrugs* All's well that ends well. It was a beautiful wedding, the happiest day of my life, and now we all have something to laugh about.
No one will ever forget that ceremony. *laughs*
you mean you didnt see ninja-commando photographer girl running around the stage?
