OK, I don't know if any of you have been following the story or not, but if you haven't let me bring you up to speed. A judge has been removed (and when I say removed she was forced out) from her job as an elected judge for Las Vegas.

Court documents—including the sworn affidavits of county administrators, judges and courthouse staff—contain the following claims:
• Insulting lawyers with sarcasm and taunts about not having contributed to her campaign.
• Applying her own brand of justice, such as talking to criminal juries during deliberations and outside the presence of the lawyers.
• Treating staffers as though they were her servants.

The judge is Elizabeth Halverson. And she is bent on tearing things up and not taking no for an answer. It is crazy. Read the full information here (http://www.abovethelaw.com/elizabeth_halverson/). She makes her baliffs give her foot and back massages. Makes her staff make her lunch and clean up her food (such as sunflower seeds all over the floor). It is just funny if you think about it. Not that I want a boss like that tho...

Some more information on the case is here (http://www.abajournal.com/magazine/youre_not_the_boss_of_me/).

Ok, so this is just hilarious…

Some recent articles from the local news channel are as follows. Some GREAT video footage of the testimony (http://www.kvbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=8784147)that started on Monday August 4th. And then the Baliff testifies (http://www.kvbc.com/global/story.asp?s=8786561).

More info as it comes, but dang if this keeps up I don't think anyone in the legal community will be able to keep a lid on things. She's absolutely completely insane.

And now if things weren't weird enough, the judge has taken the stand. Before her testimony was done she filed a restraining order with the supreme court of Nevada! WTF mates?! Now the trial can't continue until the supreme court rules...

Here's the article (http://insession.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/06/judge-takes-the-stand/).

I love how every now and then she gets tired and has to rest on her hover-round. What a monster.

You can get restraining orders against judges?! That's an interesting strategy to stay out of jail.

Yeah she filed a restraining order against the whole panel presiding over the case.
