Convergence Proposal


THE SPACE Managers,

My name is Alex Hansen and I am seeking your
permission to film a television show that I wish to
produce at your coffee shop. The show, called
Convergence will be a reality television show based
around the people that go to THE SPACE. It will not
be just about THE SPACE, but THE SPACE will be the
only place that the show is filmed.

Convergence will be unique in that everyone will get a
chance to star in the show. No one will be given a
script and the entirety of the show will be based on
everyone's unique personalities. The driving force of
the show will be the questions that I ask people and
the activities that happen at THE SPACE.

I want to make it clear that no profit will be made in
the making of this series. Local bands will hopefully
supply all music and I will only use music from bands
that have given me their consent. Under no
circumstances will I accept any money to make the show
or will I attempt to make a profit through the use of
your facilities.

Filming for each show will take place, upon your
acceptance of this proposal, at THE SPACE for a couple
of hours every week at the most.

I await your decision and your suggestions.

MY REPLY:

Hey Chafe,

It's no problem. I have ordered a newer, better
camera so that the filming will not be of low
resolution and poor quality. The new camera will not
be in until at least the 12th of July, so even if the
project had been given the thumbs up things would not
have been going forward until then anyway. Would it
be possible to meet in person and go over things that
way? I have a job at Meijer, but we can work around
it.

hey alex,
yes, i would be interested in meeting, but i have to tell you that
i'm busier than most so it could take a few tries. i am more than
willing to make the attempt though. weekends are better.

MY REPLY:

Awesome! I look forward to meeting with you. I
ordered the Sony TRV-27. It is a new camera that is
being released July 12th. The new camera that I
ordered is double the resolution of the previous one.
Its new resolution is almost a million pixels of
resolution for full motion video. I decided to put in
the extra $140.00 for the extra resolution since the
previous camera's resolution just wasn't what I hoped
for.

I met with a couple people at THE SPACE tonight and
discussed the television show. The show was met with a great deal of approval
and the name was also discussed as being TOO DEEP. Because of what was
discussed I have decided to use the first show's discussion to actually
name the show. This way the first group of people starring in the show
get to put forth their imput and show the importance of discussion,
argument, and imput of the people starring in the show. Get ready because
filming is looking like it will start around the 12th of JULY
!!!

Chafe agreed to meet me... then he didn't show... what is
this world coming to? When you say you will meet someone, you actually
meet them... this crap about not living up to what you say you are
going to do is starting to piss me off and hopefully this guy actually
follows through SOON!

I just saw this because I was testing my new Web site url and this site came up. Wow, I never realised I had upset someone so.

Try running two businesses and raising a family, it's very difficult.

Anyhow, this was years ago and The Space is now disolved. I'm offering a public apology to Alex for never following thru. I do remember making efforts to accomodate his ideas though, becuase I thought they were interesting.

I take a lot of pride in my community involvement and to see my name presented negatively is really frustrating. I'm just someone who tries to be a strong voice in the Kalamazoo community. Everyone is human, noone is a super-hero, and people screw-up. So on that note, I'm sorry.

Ohh... I didn't even really think that an apology was necessary. Why should he apologize really.. publically or otherwise for a coffeehouse closing that he had no involvement in causing it to close.
