Ever feel like your brain's getting too big for your skull? Why not drill a hole in your head? It's called trepenation, and apparently quite a few people do it to try to increase blood flow to the brain. It's also a kind of "high" that people who are sick of drugs might seek out. One of the sites I visited talked about many former LSD users trying trepenation. According to one patient, it's other benefits are "a silence in my head, a stopping of the compulsive voice."

For some strange reason, not a lot of surgeons will perform this procedure, so some people with a little too much time on their hands decide to do it themselves. That's right, just stand in front of a mirror and stick a drill in your forehead. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Visit trepanation.com (http://www.trepanation.com) or trepan.com (http://www.trepan.com) for the details.

I read a book once where a tribe of people did that. It's an ancient custom in some cultures. Some people in a few cultures do it because they believe that the gods will hear their prayers better because they will float freely out of that hole in their head. Other cultures had that as a rite of passage. It was also used for medical purposes way back in the day, and I've also heard of it being done today (very rarely, of course) in operating rooms to lower the pressure in the head.

Yeah...I'm a walking encyclopedia of useless information, if you hadn't already noticed.

So is their brain like hangeing out of their skull? Cause that would be funny if someone had a hole in their head. I'd poke it,

I wonder if you could make them do stuff by sticking your finger in their forehead.

I do know that they have been able to control rats through the use of connecting a device to their brains directly. They had pretty much a remote control mouse...freakin assimilation...eat that LOCUTUS OF BORG!
